BREAD FOR THE SUFFERING
Shopkeepers in Rome, Italy are leaving bags of free food outside their businesses for anyone suffering from economic difficulty due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
The phenomenon was started by Albanian Edmond Prenga, who runs a bakery near Rome's Piazza Bologna. Since then, the gesture has been replicated by other local shopkeepers around Rome. He leaves the bags with a message in Italian: "If you need it, this is for you", alongside Italy's message of hope: "Andrà tutto bene" (Everything will be all right).
